Not Started on the Dress Yet. Still in the design and research stage.

Pulled out material from the storage bin and I'm washing all the fabric and tossing it in the dryer. I have the fabric shrink as much as possible. I may wash it on Hot multiple times tonight if there is time.

I've washed the velveteen and linen three times now. I was going to wash it twice, but the 2nd time I washed it was right after I washed the jacard material. I'm sure that the jacard is cotton. I always check labels, but the back has been treated with something. Anyway it smells funny. So the velveteen and linen smelled a little funny to when them came out of the washer. So back into the wash with detergent. I'll toss them into the dryer, so these babies should not shrink up on me at all after all is said and done.
Meanwhile, I've got the jacquard spread out in my livingroom and I've hit the backside with Fabreze. It's worked wonderfully with my knitting yarns, so I hope it works with this fabric. Otherwise, I'll spray it with perfume...(I sure hope not, I hate it when people put too much of that stuff on) At least that would be Period!

I'm working on my Smock. This project is all done by hand. The rest of the dress will be done with a conventional machine.
July 4, 2007 Happy Independence Day! Purchased the linen for my Kirtle. Since my class with Ninya Mikhaila and Jane Malcomlm-Davies, I see that I will have to rethink my choice of fabrics. I'd like to have an accurate (as much as possible) gown and the uphosltrey fabric is all wrong. Drat.

Started on the Muslin for the Red Linen Kirtle.
November 26, 2007
Kirtle is done but for hem. I'll add some guards but that's not necessary.
June 2008. Wore the Kirtle to an SCA event. No photos, but I hope I looked OK. It was very comfortable and it was 102 that day, maybe hotter.
Next item is the Under-dress.
July 3, 2008 I have the bodice pattern and must decide: side back lacing or center back lacing. If I use the center back, I'll have to re-draft the back pieces (currently 4 pcs) to 2pcs. I am also looking at the pattern and trying to decide where I want the bodice front to fall on the pattern. Not as easy as it sounds.
5-11-10 Petticoat is done.
11-1-11 Foresleeves done.
11-4-11 Gown is next.
