Simbelmyne

Welcome to

Simbelmynë

Simbelmynë is a flower that grows on the burial mounds of the Kings of Rohan. It's other name is Evermind, since it is always flowering regardless of the season.  A constant reminder.  Created for the world of Lord of the Rings. We are introduced to this flower at the burial of Theoden's son.  It is also noted as the white flowers of uilos (in elvish tongue meaning everlasting snow), "the Evermind that knows no season and withers not", grew before the Gate of Silver in Gondolin in the First Age and also, white flowers of uilos, white Alfirin bloomed upon the mound of Elendil on Amon Anwar in Gondor.  So: Rohan, Elven & Gondor are all tied together via this simple white flower.  Our dear professor loved trees and flowers...me too.

Simbelmynë is a white flower that is a symbol for me to remember all things beautiful and good in this world and that we have to go through struggles and pain but despite all that, the good is worth fighting for. Welcome All.

This Site will document my efforts at making the gowns from the LOTR's movies by Peter Jackson. The Dress Diary pages are very image intensive.

"How fair are the bright eyes in the grass! Evermind they are called, simbelmynë in this land of Men, for they blossom in all the seasons of the year, and grow where dead men rest."  The Two Towers
